Getting Ready

• Degree List vs. Commencement

  The degree list tells University officials that you are ready to graduate and are in the process of completing your final courses. When registering for your last semester on Tele-BEARS, you must add yourself to the term (spring, summer, or fall) in which you expect to complete all of your degree requirements.

  Signing up for commencement tells the University’s events office that you plan to attend the campuswide celebration. Buying commencement tickets does not put you on the degree list, and vice versa.

• Tickets

  Advanced ticket sales are now closed. Orders can be picked up at Will Call, located in the kiosk outside of Edwards Stadium at the intersection of Bancroft Way and Oxford/Fulton St., on Saturday, May 12 from 7:30–11 a.m. A photo ID is required.
  If tickets are still available on the day of Commencement, they will be sold at Will Call for $10 each, cash only. Children 2 and under are free. Please note that all sales are FINAL and there are no refunds. No exceptions, please.

• Program Listing

  All graduates must purchase their tickets by April 2 to be listed in the program. Those that miss the deadline are welcome to walk, but their names will not be included. Please note that this is a firm deadline with no exceptions.

  Q: Will I receive cords to wear if I have honors distinction?


  UC Berkeley does not provide cords. Check with your department or any student group you are affiliated with to see if they provide one.

  Q: Where can I purchase announcements and other graduation items?


  Both the Cal Student Store and Ned’s Bookstore are offering various graduation packages that include announcements, thank-you cards, diploma covers, regalia keepers, and other items. Check with each store for its list of products and special promotions.

  Q: How can I buy Class of 2012 merchandise?


  Class of 2012 Sweatshirts are available via pre-sale for $30 at www.wepay.com/shop/calseniors2012.

  

• Grad Fair

  Tuesday, April 3 – Friday, April 6

  10 a.m.–4 p.m.

  Cal Student Store, MLK, Jr. Student Union

  The Grad Fair is the best place to pick up your cap and gown, pre-ordered tickets, and other helpful information. Commencement tickets will not be available for purchase; they can only be purchased online.

  When you come to the Grad Fair, check-in at Foursquare's Cal Student Store. You could win a Foursquare t-shirt! (Make sure you follow Cal, foursquare.berkeley.edu, too!)
